I was a cadet before and wanted to progress further using the insight being a cadet has given me to Lincolnshire Police and the people I can meet.
The people I have met and the activities I have done.
It is a great thing to do to get an insight into the police. It also allows you to meet new people within the police you may not meet otherwise.

Don’t hesitate! Even if you don’t have policing background, everyone has something to bring and skills to use.
Cadet leader at Lincoln since 2022
I was a cadet for a few years before and it seemed like the right next step.
Supporting the Remembrance service in 2023 where I got to be the flag bearer and walk with some cadets.
It is a great chance to find opportunities you won’t get elsewhere.
Cadet leaders Willow Van Landeghem, Kate Odlin, Sarah Morris and Eric Greig from Skegness
Cadet leader at Skegness since 2023
I joined because I had been a cadet for many years before becoming a leader. I enjoyed cadets so wanted to give that experience to others.
From being a senior cadet to being a leader and seeing the cadets overcome problems, finding positive solutions, and moving on to their next stage in life.
You should join because it is an amazing experience, and everyone can bring so much knowledge to the cadets.
Cadet leader at Skegness for over 10 years
Skegness was at risk of closing as there were not enough leaders. I could see how important it was for young people and didn’t want it to close, so stepped in to help.
Seeing the cadets grow in confidence.
Do it!
Cadet leader at Skegness since 2022
As a special constable I was aware of the cadet programme and wanted to help out as I could bring skills from being a scout leader.
Working with the cadets on Operation Atlantis and 999 day in Skegness.
It is a great opportunity to give back to the community and help young people develop.
Cadet leader at Skegness since 2017
Skegness was at risk of closing as there were not enough leaders and Kate had stepped in to help. She encouraged me to join.
Getting new leaders like Eric!
It is rewarding, interesting, and a great way to give back to the community.
