Major Crime are recruiting!
Transferee DC posts have become available on the Major Crime Unit we are a specialist team who investigate offences of homicide.
We are a small friendly team who believe in delivering the platinum service to families who are bereaved by homicide. This posting is available to those who are PIP 2 qualified. I am looking for people who have a good eye for detail, are hardworking and will be committed to delivering an excellent service to bereaved families, is competent in all areas of detective work including skills with mobile phones, CCTV and has a willingness to learn. You must have good communication skills. You will be given the necessary training to carry out your role for example HOLMES training, CCTV coordinator course, disclosure, Family Liaison Officer training and advanced interviewer to name just a few. Your training is a continual investment and there are regular CPD events and refresher training.
You will be employed by Lincolnshire Police and your posting is at Sleaford Police Station where our hub is, and you will work on homicides across Lincolnshire. However, we are part of a wider major crime collaboration of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) and so you must be prepared to work on homicide investigations across the East Midlands Forces (Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire). Officers will be expected to work away for short periods of time usually for 3- 4 days at the start of an investigation to help support the golden hour/fast track action stage. Working away is shared out amongst the team so that people maintain a work-life balance. Working with other Forces allows you to develop as an investigator, network and work on all different types of homicide investigations.
