Training for Lincolnshire Police Officers, Specials Constables, PCSOs and police staff is delivered by the Learning and Development Department based at Force Headquarters at Nettleham.
Officers’ skills are tested in a number of ways, including testing how they respond in practical situations. The force uses a number of volunteers as role players who are briefed and will play their part in a scenario designed to test the officer’s response.
Role players bring a degree of realism and authenticity to officer training and the force is looking to recruit a pool of volunteers to call upon to assist with this aspect of police officer training.
Roles and tasks may vary, but will include:
This role requires no specific role play skills, and you don’t have to be a trained actor! However, it would be helpful if you are confident in communicating with different people and are able to work effectively as part of a team.
The times/dates would be by prior arrangement and will be dependent upon the respective training programmes. The role play scenarios may be at Police Headquarters or elsewhere and you would need your own transport or be prepared to use public transport if available.
The Learning and Development team will provide you with all the information and guidance according to the scenario and will supervise you at all times when you are “performing” as role play volunteer. They will supervise you at all times when you are in or on police premises.
