Performance Management Volunteer (Ref: 137)

Purpose 

Lincolnshire Police hold a number of warrant occurrences within our crime and intelligence system, Niche. Currently data pertaining to the original offence is not easily extractable from a single field within these occurrences. A piece of work has been undertaken to change this process going forwards but there is a backlog of data requiring manual review and update.

Adding details of the offence for which the person is wanted into an easily extractable format will enhance the visibility of warrants enabling us to apply risk scores, allowing officers to better prioritise which warrants need their attention, and providing an overview of the types of offences we have people on warrant for.

Please note this role may require reading of offences and there may be occasions where this contains potentially distressing information.

What you will be doing

Roles and tasks may vary, but will include:

• Using police systems to work through a list of warrant occurrences
• Identifying corresponding crimes and adding updates about the crime type to a specific field
• Potentially looking at and helping resolve similar issues

Skills, experience, and qualities needed

• Confident and competent in the use of IT and technology (e.g. Windows systems and Microsoft applications)
• Able to learn and use new IT systems, with support given, to read information and make amendments where necessary
• Attention to detail
• A level of personal resilience when reading about crimes and offences

Location and times

This role will be based over a period of time at Lincolnshire Police HQ in Nettleham with dates and times agreed between the line manager and volunteer.

• Access to the force wellbeing and health and care provision
• Support of a local line manager within the performance team and the volunteer team at Police HQ

Other information

• Expenses incurred as a result of the role will be paid at the relevant rate
• Volunteers must be over 18
• The role requires a security check (vetting)
• Volunteers are asked to sign an agreement to maintain confidentiality, as you may have access to sensitive material
