This role will provide administrative support to the archive unit based at Gainsborough. The unit stores all files and media resulting from criminal enquiries. The volunteer will provide additional capacity to assist with archiving functions.
Assist the team at the archive with:
The role requires volunteers who have an organised and methodical approach to administrative tasks and who demonstrate attention to detail in their work.
IT skills will be required along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Some manual handling of items will be required.
The role will be based at Gainsborough Police Station. Days and times to be agreed, but the role will require a regular commitment of ideally around 6 hours per week.
All volunteers receive a local induction and a Volunteer Handbook with all the information you will need to support you in your role. ‘On the job’ training will be provided by members of your team, and there may be the opportunity to undertake further training relevant to your role.
You will be supervised by the Archive supervisor, as well as having the support of a volunteer co-ordinator at police HQ.
Expenses will be paid for travelling between your home and Gainsborough station.
This role will require a security check, a health check and for you to sign an agreement to maintain confidentiality, as you may have access to sensitive material.
