The Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) department is made up of a team of specialist detectives who deal with a wide range of offences including rape and serious sexual offences of children and adults and child abuse in general. They take responsibility for these from an early stage right through to trial, working with other departments throughout.
There needs to be a great attention to detail within the team due to the varied nature of the work and the large numbers of witnesses and members of the public they come into contact with.
By providing administrative support to the team, a volunteer would be able to assist officers with their investigations which would result in an enhanced service to the public.
Please note this role may require reading of information that on occasions can contain potentially distressing information.
Roles and tasks may vary, but will include:
You will need to be confident when communicating with a wide range of people both in person and in writing.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Word is desirable although onsite training will be provided if necessary.
A willingness and commitment to learn new skills is also important.
The role will be based at a Police Station with days and times to be agreed. The role will require a regular commitment of at least 4 hours per week, however hours can be flexible to suit the volunteer’s availability.
PVP teams are based at the following Police Stations – Boston, Skegness, Lincoln, and Grantham
