Pre-join policing degree at Lincoln College

Lincoln College has developed a pre-join policing degree which is a professional academic knowledge-based degree, based on the national curriculum for the police constable role.

A career in policing demands skill, responsibility, leadership, initiative and a genuine desire to make a difference to society. BA (Hons) Professional Policing equips you to meet that challenge. You’ll prepare for the fast-moving world of policing by following a curriculum written and licensed by the College of Policing. You will study a wide range of theoretical and legislative subjects and gain the knowledge you need for a rewarding career in the police service.

As part of the pre-join policing degree there is the option for you to join the Special Constabulary as a special constable – serving the community alongside Police Officers while you complete their studies. Being a special constable gives you invaluable insight into what it is like to work in a local constabulary.

Please note that national and local entry requirements need to be met and standard recruitment processes followed.

Undertaking the pre-join policing degree does not guarantee entry into Special Constabulary roles or any such employment with the police service as an officer or staff member.
