If you call our non-emergency line (101) between the hours of 8am and 8pm you will be greeted by one of our Switchboard Operators.
Their role is to understand the reasons for your call and try and get you through to the right person, first time.
They will ask questions around why you are calling, and may direct you to other agencies if your call is a non-police matter, offer advice on how to deal with certain things, or pass you through to other teams within Lincolnshire Police. If your call means you need to report on or update a live incident then they will pass you onto the control room to one of our Contact Management Operators to deal with. Those in this role require a cool head, good listening skills and the ability to show empathy to those calling so that we can make sure we deal with each call for service in an appropriate way, and are often the first person that victims of crime will speak to when making their initial report.
