We have partnered with the British Sign Language (BSL) Online Interpreting Service, SignLive, to offer the deaf community the option to contact us using their mobile phone or electronic device.
SignLive is a deaf-owned organisation based in the UK providing online video interpreting services through its Video Relay Service (VRS) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). This allows deaf people anywhere in the world to communicate with anyone, at any time, using an app which connects them to a qualified British Sign Language interpreter.
This video has no sound.
British Sign Language (BSL) users can now use SignLive to contact Lincolnshire Police when it's not an emergency.
SignLive is a free service that will connect you to a qualified online BSL interpreter, helping you to report a crime or incident in the way that suits you best.
The service is for non-emergencies. It is for crimes or incidents which have happened in the past or for providing information to the police about issues affecting your community.
The service is not for 999 emergencies, where a crime is happening now and someone is at risk of harm.
If the police need to contact you back they can also do this via SignLive, and if you're not available, they can leave you a video message.
You can download the SignLive app on your mobile phone or tablet.
Alternatively, you can use a web browser by visiting www.signlive.co.uk.
If this is your first time using the service, you'll need to complete a one-time registration.
Once logged in, you can contact Lincolnshire Police for free, through the Community Directory by tapping on Lincolnshire Police and the 'Call'.
