We are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire in Skegness, which appears to have started behind businesses on Old Wainfleet Road around 1pm on Monday, 29 December.
Emergency services attended after calls reporting a fire at three commercial properties. Thankfully, no one was injured but there is substantial damage to properties and businesses in the area.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have completed their investigation with the assistance of a fire dog and dog handler from the region. However, due to the damage at the site, the evidence was inconclusive and the cause remains undetermined. As such, we cannot say at this stage if the fire was started deliberately or accidentally.
