Both men have been released on bail while inquiries are ongoing.
A total of two men were arrested in connection with this incident. The 40-year-old man mentioned below, and a second 66-year-old man. The dog was captured by authorities and taken to appropriate kennels. The investigation continues.
A man has been arrested after a woman was injured following an incident involving a dog in Skegness.
Officers were called to Drummond Road at 7.28pm today (Saturday 13 June) following reports that a woman was attacked by a dog in the street.
Officers attended and found the woman with facial injuries. Ambulance Service staff also attended, and the woman was left in their care for further medical treatment and admission to hospital.
There remains a police presence at the scene at this time as officers are in the process of detaining the dog, which is believed to be inside a property on Drummond Road, and will then remain at the scene to carry out inquiries as part of the investigation.
A 40-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of owning a dog dangerously out of control and will be questioned by investigating officers.
