We have now charged three men in relation to the murder of Ian Jackson-Wynch.
Carl Copus, 55, of Greyfriars, Grantham has been charged with murder, fraud, and robbery.
Billy Mitchell, 43, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder, fraud, robbery, and carrying an offensive weapon.
Sean Page, 36, of Tamar Court, Grantham, has been charged with murder, fraud, robbery, and carrying an offensive weapon.
All three men have been refused bail and will appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 31 January 2026.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy McWatt, of the Major Crime Unit, East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: “We have now charged three individuals in connection with this tragic incident, and this marks a significant step forward in our investigation.
"Our thoughts remain firmly with the family and loved ones of Ian Jackson Wynch.
"While today’s development brings us closer to justice, our work does not end here. We will continue to pursue every line of enquiry to ensure the full circumstances of this horrific crime are understood and those responsible are held to account. We believe those involved are known to one another and this is an isolated incident.”
The owner of a white Fiat who may be a potential witness in this investigation has now contacted us. Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal.
We have also amended the spelling of the name of the victim, following new information: The correct spelling is Ian Jackson-Wynch. This has been amended in all of our communications.
We have made a further arrest in our on-going investigation into the murder of Ian Jackson-Wynch.
We have arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of murder. All three men remain in police custody.
We can now confirm that the man who died following an incident in Greyfriars on Monday evening (26 January), was 55-year-old Ian Jackson-Wynch, from Grantham.

We believe Ian was stabbed, and we are treating his death as murder. Our thoughts are very much with his family at this time, and they are being supported by specialist officers.
A 55-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody. We have subsequently arrested another man – aged 43 – also on suspicion of murder.
This remains an active investigation, and we strongly advise the public not to speculate, as doing so could compromise the integrity of our investigation. Further updates will be issued when available.
We are also continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to call 101 quoting Incident 449 of 26 January.
We were called at 11.12pm last night (Monday January 26) to reports of a man with injuries at a property in Greyfriars, Grantham.
Officers and paramedics attended the scene and found a man with serious injuries. Despite the best efforts of those who attended, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is being treated as unexpected but suspicious and a second man, aged 55 was arrested in connection with this incident and remains in police custody for questioning.
Our detectives, specialist search officers, and forensic teams will be on scene this morning and are expected to remain there for some time while this work continues.
We would like to appeal for any witnesses or information in relation to this investigation. If you heard any disturbances or saw anything suspicious in the Greyfriars area between 9pm on Monday 26 January to midnight, please get in touch.
We are also appealing for any doorbell, CCTV or dashcam footage of the area between those times that may help our investigation.
You can contact us with any information on 101 quoting incident 449 of 26/01/26.
