We received a call in the early hours of Tuesday morning (28 April), by a concerned member of the public who lives alone in a secluded property in Hemingby, just north of Horncastle. They’d disturbed a man snooping around their car on the driveway.
A description of the suspect was circulated and while out on patrols just ninety minutes later, eagle-eyed PC Brereton spotted a man matching that description walking along the A158.
The 30-year-old man was picked up and following a road-side search was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A and class B drugs.
But in a twist of fate, it turns out that this man was also wanted on suspicion of being involved in a burglary of Coral Bookmakers in Lincoln, on 7 April.
The man has been released on bail with conditions pending further inquiries.
