Family tribute issued following collision on 15 March 2026

Following a four-vehicle collision on the A157 close to Gayton-Le-Wold and Grimblethorpe in which two persons have sadly died, the family of one the persons killed, Pauline James, 79, who was driving a grey MG, have released a tribute to her.

In a statement the family have said:

'We are beyond broken that our perfect, beautiful, kind and fun-loving Mum, Grandmother and Great Grandmother sadly passed away following a road traffic collision.

“She was deeply adored and treasured by all who were lucky enough to meet her. We will miss her warm and crazy presence every day.  She wasn't just anyone, she was our world.

“Pauline was a gifted figure skater in her younger years and then went on to own her own business.  But her greatest and proudest achievement was the family that she raised and nurtured.  Her family was very much her priority above all else and meant absolutely everything to her.

“She meant everything and more to us and every day will feel empty without her. The most perfect woman who wasn't ready to leave this world.”

Investigations by Lincolnshire Police into the circumstances of the collision remain ongoing.
