Alice Eyre is our force Leadership Manager. She’s responsible for ensuring that those in positions of authority at Lincolnshire Police have the necessary leadership skills to help deliver the best service and keep the community safe.
In addition to practical policing training from operational experts Alice and her team train leaders on the leadership skills required to manage complex situations.
The Leadership Development Team provides valuable education and training throughout the force, teaching leaders how to manage performance, improve efficiency, and more.
They also encourage leaders to consider their team's wellbeing and ensure fair and respectful treatment.
Alice joined the force in 2023 after a long career in teaching, leaving her role as a school head to pursue her passion for public service.
She said: "I realized there are many transferable skills I could bring after 13 years in education. I have a big passion for helping people, and as the leadership manager for the force, I'm focused on developing leaders, both officers and staff.
"Leadership skills can be taught – but it's about giving people the right tools to support their development."
The Leadership Development team, consisting of four people, provides Lincolnshire-specific training alongside packages licensed by the College of Policing.
Lincolnshire Police was one of the first forces in the country to gain a licence to offer these courses, which have been highly successful for both operational officers and police staff.
"Supporting individuals when they move into a leadership position is essential," Alice said. "Being an effective leader is crucial to delivering the best service to the public.
"Good leaders also give others the opportunity to grow and develop, empowering them to be confident decision makers.
"At Lincolnshire Police we aim to provide opportunities for everyone to unlock their leadership potential."
