Jack Clarke and Jak Glowczyk have each been sent to prison for two years and seven months after pleading guilty to conspiring to steal plant and horticultural equipment and possessing stolen cash and bank deposits.

Clarke, aged 26 of Cressbrook Road, Grantham and Glowczyk, aged 37 of Broadgate, Whaplode Drove, Spalding were sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Tuesday, 23 December.

Glowczyk faced charges of conspiring to steal plant machinery and horticultural equipment to an estimated value of £160,000. Along with two charges of possessing criminal property which were cash deposits to a value of £249,428 and bank deposits to a value of £7,070, when he knew or suspected the deposits constituted a person’s benefit from criminal conduct.

Clarke faced charges of conspiring to steal plant and horticultural equipment with an estimated value of £160,000. Along with a second charge of converting criminal property which was cash in the sum of £6,500, knowing or suspecting it to constitute a person’s benefit from criminal conduct.

Sgt Tom Smith, Rural Crime Team, Lincolnshire Police, said: “This is a great result for the rural residents of our county. Offenders’ target our rural areas as they believe they will not be caught. We are grateful for the help and support of the businesses and residents involved.

“The distinct responsibility for the Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) is to protect our rural communities and preventing thefts. As part of that work, we identify people who we believe through intelligence and information are committing crime. We identified this pair and focussed on stopping these offenders specifically.

"The level of determined work to get these charges shows the tenacity and dedication of our Rural Crime Team. The Investigating officer for these charges, DC Stevenson, was able to secure a good result at court and manage a complex case."
