We have issued a penalty notice to an 18-year-old man last night (31 October) in Louth.
Just before 10pm, we received reports of a group of people setting off fireworks at each other as well as aiming it as shops, houses and moving cars on Mercer Row.
Officers attended and after CCTV enquiries, we identified an 18-year-old man, and he was issued with a penalty notice for the inappropriate use of fireworks.
Inspector Jacky Evans said: “Used irresponsibly, fireworks can cause a lot of damage to property, and do significant harm to people and animals.
“We know people want to celebrate events like Halloween and eventually Bonfire Night, but we would urge people to celebrate responsibly and safely – especially if you’re using fireworks. We will be stepping up our patrols in Louth in the lead up to Bonfire Night and we will take action against those who act irresponsibly.”
