A 19-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs. He was released on bail while inquiries are ongoing.
Five people were arrested over the weekend following disorder at Lake View Road in the Moorland area of Lincoln.
Our Force Control Room received a report at around 11.30pm on Saturday (11 May) that a group of people were armed with bats and other weapons in the street and were causing damage to a property.
It was also believed that someone had been assaulted.
Reports like this are treated very seriously, particularly when there is the potential for there to be serious injuries, and we immediately dispatched officers.
On arrival they found a man in his 20s with several wounds which were treated at the scene before he was taken to hospital. Thankfully, those injuries are not life-threatening.
Suspects had left the scene, and there was a heightened police presence in the area over the weekend while we carried out searches for both evidence and individuals.
We are keeping an open mind about who was involved or the circumstances of the incident, but we believe that they were all known to each other.
Five people were arrested in connection with the incident: an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of class B drugs; a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent; and two 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of class B drugs.
All five have been released on police bail while investigations continue.
We know that there will be lots of speculation about this incident locally, including talking about the people involved. We would remind people that it is an offence to identify anyone under the age of 18 involved in criminal proceedings.
Our officers will now investigate the circumstances of this case, which will include further conversations with local residents and other enquiries in the neighbouhood.
