Dale Sumner, 42, of Water Lane, Ancaster appeared before officials at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Wednesday, 27 March.
The case has been sent to crown court for trial and he has been bailed with conditions. The next hearing will be on 25 April.
We have charged 42-year-old Dale Sumner with robbery following an incident in High Street, Grantham.
Sumner, of Water Lane, Ancaster, was arrested in the evening on 25 March, and charged in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, 27 March).
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today.
We have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with this incident.
He has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody where he will be interviewed by detectives.
We are appealing for witnesses following a report of a robbery where a cash-in-transit van cash box was stolen in Grantham town centre.
If you were in the High Street or Finkin Street areas of Grantham between 1am and 2am this morning (Monday 25 March), please can you check dashcam or mobile phone footage to see if you may have captured the incident or people involved?
We would also be keen to hear from those who may have seen a plume of smoke in any of the nearby areas, or from anyone who has any other information or witnessed the incident.
The robbery was reported to have taken place when the van was parked by Nationwide bank in High Street. The suspect is described as white, in his late 40’s, and 5ft 7ins tall. He was wearing all black, a balaclava, and carrying a bike chain or rope.
The man left in the direction of Finkin Street, and officers have worked with CCTV teams to attempt to track him.
The cash box is not believed to have contained any money. Nobody was injured in the incident.
