I have been a Special Constable since September of 2023 and operational since November 2023.
It has simply been one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life, and I absolutely love being a part of the police family. I am proud to help my community.
Alongside being a special, I have a part-time job with a supermarket as a delivery driver. I also volunteer for Search & Rescue Lincolnshire as a Search Technician.
In this role, the team are on-call to help locate and rescue high risk missing people. This role has transferrable skills to the police and has helped me bring new skills to Lincolnshire Police.
The main reason why I volunteer is because I love to help others. It gives me happiness.
At first when I did my initial training, it was hard and exhausting to learn about all of the legislation behind the laws and powers that the police have. I did find it tough, however Lincolnshire Police gave me support with this.
Lincolnshire Police have been the most welcoming, friendly, and helpful organisation I have ever been in.
Every day I feel proud to be a Special Constable.
