We are appealing for witnesses and information to help our investigation into a report of sexual assault by touching and burglary at the same location.
Were you in the area of Riverside and Welham Street in Grantham between 1am and 1.45am on 24 July, and may have seen a man in that area?
We would like to hear about any information you might have, no matter how small, such as a physical description of anyone on the area, information about clothing you might have seen someone wearing, or any activity you may have thought was suspicious. We are particularly keen to view any recorded video footage and are asking you to check your cameras if you had one operating and where in that area.
The investigation relates to a report that a home was burgled at around 1.15am and a woman in the property was sexually assaulted by touching. A wallet and mobile phone were reported stolen.
Following further investigations, we have charged James Mashford, 44, of Avenue Road, with burglary, sexual assault, and possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded into custody to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today (25 July).
If you can help, please contact DC Chris Hughes on [email protected] quoting incident 27 of 24 July.
