Wayne O'Rourke has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of publishing written material to stir up racial hate.
The 35-year-old, of Salix Approach, Lincoln, was charged in connection with an investigation into posts allegedly made from a social media account.
He appeared at Lincoln Crown Court this afternoon (Friday, 16 August) to enter his plea, and was sentenced immediately by the judge.
A 35-year-old man has been charged with publishing written material to stir up racial hate.
Wayne O’Rourke, of Salix Approach, Lincoln, was arrested on Sunday afternoon. The charge relates to posts allegedly made from a social media account.
Chief Superintendent Kate Anderson said: “This charge demonstrates that we will take fast and decisive action against anyone suspected of sharing harmful content online.
“We retain a commitment to proactively police and keep people safe across the county.
“This action shows that everyone is responsible for their actions – whether they be in public, or online.”
O’Rourke is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, this morning (13 August).
