Green Synergy is a local Lincoln charity which does many things within the local community.
Their Hillside Community Garden off Roman Pavement, which is managed by Green Synergy on land owned by United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust, is behind the Francis Willis Unit.
It’s a lovely garden, which opened to the public in 2019 after an extreme amount of hard work and effort from the charity and their group of volunteers to transform over-grown brambled wasteland, into the beautiful peaceful hidden gem that it is.
It's used for events including family fun days, like the one they held yesterday with food and activities for the local community. This was well attended, and everyone had a lovely time, which is the current climate, we can all agree is much needed.
Sadly, just after 9.30pm last night, some individuals have decided to smash the good spirits of the charity and volunteers by ripping through the exterior of a polytunnel. Then they stole some children’s games. Entry was gained into a secure locked compound on the site to do this.
This isn’t just criminal damage.
This isn’t just theft.
This is a charity being targeted and now facing an estimated bill of £8,000 to cover the costs of the damage alone.
The costs to rectify these mindless, and selfish actions are not easy to cover.
If you have any formation on who is responsible for this, please email the Abbey Neighbourhood Policing Team at [email protected] quoting Incident number 475 of 7 August.
