Five people were arrested during an incident in Boston in which several of our officers were injured.
We received a call at 3.11am on Saturday (10 August) to Dolphin Lane, following reports of disorder.
Two people were arrested on suspicion of drunk and disorderly behaviour. Following this, other people in the area began to attack our officers, several of whom were assaulted. Thankfully, the physical injuries were minor.
Arrests were made swiftly, resulting in the following action:
Our officers were also in attendance on Friday evening on Church Street, in which officers were also assaulted. A dispersal order was put in place and our investigations are ongoing. No one has yet been arrested.
Chief Inspector Rich Nethercott said: “An attack on a police officer is never acceptable. Our officers so often put themselves in harm’s way to protect the public and keep people safe, and we are thankful that the injuries they sustained were only minor.
“We are continuing to investigate both incidents and we have already made several arrests. Our message is clear: teams will work tirelessly to bring to justice those who break the law.
“There are several lines of enquiry that we are currently pursuing, and I’d appeal to anyone with information to contact us.”
