Serious collision, Lea Road, Gainsborough

We are saddened to report that the pedestrian involved in this collision has died.

Update, 20 April, 5.45pm:

A female pedestrian in her 90s has been taken to hospital following a collision with an HGV in Lea Road, Gainsborough.

Emergency services attended the scene, near to the B&Q store, following a call received at 10.44am today (20 April).

Shortly after the collision the woman was taken to hospital by air ambulance with potentially life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made. The road is expected to be re-opened by 7pm.

We are now appealing for anyone with dashcam footage, or who witnessed the incident, to contact us on 101, quoting Incident 137 of 20 April.

Lea Road, Gainsborough, is likely to be closed for some time following a collision reported to us at 10.44am today.

Emergency services are at the scene and we would advise people to avoid the area.
