We are delighted and proud that a Lincolnshire volunteer ambassador has won a national award for her work with us to improve our service in addressing violence against women and girls.
At a ceremony in London on Wednesday, Abbie* was awarded for her work with Lincolnshire Police. Abbie was the joint national winner in the category of VAWG ambassador at a special event held to recognise the work that police officers, staff and volunteers are doing to keep people safe and to combat and eradicate violence against women and girls.
"Abbie’s story" (a video in which Abbie tells her experience from reporting a crime, and through the court process) was put forward to the national recognition event which also saw Lincolnshire Police recognised as a regional winner for improving culture and conduct internally with our #SpeakOutNow campaign.
Detective Superintendent Suzanne Davies said, “I was delighted to attend the national awards event in London on Wednesday, where the work we are doing in Lincolnshire to combat violence against women and girls was recognised. I was proud to stand alongside Abbie as the national winner as the VAWG ambassador for the work she has done with us telling us her story and her journey through the criminal justice system.”
