We'll be escorting an abnormal load which is moving from Peterborough to The Port at Sutton Bridge on Monday 25 September.
We expect to move the load after 9.30 am. The route will travel: A15, A47, A16, A151, A17 and onto West Bank via Bridge Road.
There will be temporary road closures along the route to allow the load to travel safely to its destination. The load will be slow moving and will likely cause delays on route.
We're advising anyone whose journey may be affected to consider planning an alternative route.
The load being moved is a steam turbine with an overall length of 36 metres, it's over 5 metres wide, over 5 metres tall and weighs around 230 tonnes. It's big!
The load is not permitted to travel during peak times so movement will not commence until after 9.30am. Unfortunately, we are not able to allow these movements to take place during the hours of darkness.
Most of our roads are not fully lit at night and it is imperative, for the overall safety of our road users, the abnormal load crew, and our officers that we move abnormal loads when it is safe to do so.
