A man has been charged following an incident where two people reported being punched and slapped by a man they didn’t know.
Officers received a report that a man had approached a group of people outside Wetherspoons in High Street, Lincoln, at around 10.05pm last night (19 September) and physically assaulted an 18-year-old man and 18-year-old woman.
They were left with minor injuries.
Alex Hayward, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested by Response officers a short distance from where the incident happened at 10.49pm.
Following further investigation, he was charged this morning with two counts of common assault. He appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today where he has been remanded into custody until a further hearing on 28 September.
