Updated: man charged in Wormgate incident, Boston

We have charged Marin Berescu, 30, with grievous bodily harm wounding with intent following an incident in Wormgate, Boston which left a man in his 50s with serious injuries.

Following further investigations and interviews, Berescu, of Wormgate, Boston, was charged in the early hours of this morning and is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 23 November).

Our enquiries are ongoing.

Original release

We have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder following a report of a serious assault in Wormgate, Boston.

A man in his 50s is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The incident was reported to have taken place in Wormgate at some point in the evening of Saturday, 18 November. Detectives are working to establish the circumstances of the assault, but it is believed that the people involved were known to each other.

The man was arrested by officers in the Luton area this morning and will be questioned by investigators from our Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today.
