We are saddened to report that the 76-year-old man involved in a collision in Brayford Way, Lincoln, on Sunday night (12 November) has died.
He died at hospital last night (Monday, 13 November), and his family are being supported by specially-trained officers.
Our investigation is continuing and it is vital that we get as much information as we can to establish the circumstances which led to the collision.
Please help us if you can.
Our appeal yesterday asked for footage which showed a black Ford focus or a man wearing jeans and a shirt.
We are now asking for any dashcam footage, particularly from vehicles either on the university bridge heading towards the roundabout, or on the roundabout, between 10pm and 10.10pm on Sunday 12 November, so we can view it and determine if the contents have information which could help our investigation. The smallest details can often be the most important.
We would also be keen to see footage of Tritton Road at around that time.
If you can help, there are a several ways to get in touch:
We are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision between and car and a pedestrian close to the university roundabout in Lincoln.
The collision happened at the traffic light crossing on Brayford Way opposite the McDonald’s 'drive thru', just off the university roundabout at around 10.05pm last night (Sunday, 12 November).
It involved a black Ford Focus and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, received emergency care at the scene. He was taken to hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a critical condition, and his next of kin have been informed.
There were no other injuries reported.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services worked.
We are now appealing for witnesses who might be able to help our investigation into the circumstances of the incident. If you were travelling along Tritton Road shortly before the time of the collision, we are asking that you check dashcams to see if it may have captured at black Force Focus or a man in his 70s who was wearing jeans and shirt.
We are particularly keen to view footage from vehicles which were being driven on the bridge in either direction at the time of the collision.
