Two men have been charged with drugs offences and remanded into custody following a successful warrant at a property in Gainsborough.
Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a warrant at the a property in Clinton Terrace in the town following intelligence that there was drugs-related activity taking place.
On searching the building, they found a cannabis grow set over three rooms containing 117 plants, which were in various stages of growth or production.
The electricity meter had been bypassed.
The building was made safe by the electric board and the plants stripped out to be destroyed.
Further investigation was carried out by detectives in the Criminal Investigation Department (CDI). The plants had an estimated value of between £19,890 to £70,200.
The warrant was carried out on 3 June. Kelvis Bakushi, 21, of no fixed address, and Gabriel Bejinaru, 37, of Clinton Terrace, were both arrested at the scene and later charged with charged with production of controlled drug class B.
They appeared at Lincoln District Magistrates’ Court on 3 June where they were remanded into custody. The date for their next court hearing has yet to be fixed.
