Update, 10.30am, 30 June:

The three people arrested in connection with the incident in Middlegate Road, Frampton, have all been released without any further action.

We are not looking for anyone else in relation to this and our investigation has concluded.

We would like to thank the public for their support.

Update, 10.40am, 28 June:

We have arrested three people in connection with the incident in Middlegate Road West, Frampton.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 41-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The 18-year-old woman arrested and released on bail has been re-arrested in connection with this incident.

All three remain in custody and will be questioned in due course.

We will release an update when one is available.

We would like to thank the public for their continued support.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with any information can call us on 101 and quote incident 121 of 25 June.

Update, 8.22pm, 26 June:

We are urgently trying to locate a 16-year-old boy who is wanted in connection with a serious assault in Boston over the weekend.

Officers are actively searching for him, and we are asking our community to help us trace him.

The assault took place in Boston yesterday (Sunday 25 June) and he is also known to have connections to the Peterborough area.

We believe that people in the local area will know the person we are talking about – who we currently aren’t naming for legal reasons – and can help us to trace him.

Our message directly to him and anyone who may be helping him to evade our officers is that they should be aware of the trouble they could find themselves in by actively hiding.

We ask anyone who sees him or knows of his location to call 101 and quote incident number – this call can be made without consequence. Always call 999 in an emergency.

Update, 11.50am 26 June:

The 18-year-old woman arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail.

Investigations are ongoing.

Original release:

We have launched an investigation into an assault which has left a man in his 40s in a serious condition with multiple wounds.

We received a call from the ambulance service at 5.30am this morning (25 June) that a man had been injured at an address in Middlegate Road West, Frampton, in Boston.

On arrival, officers found the victim had suffered several puncture wounds and was treated at the scene before being transferred to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

There was no suspect at the scene and officers immediately carried out local area searches, and other enquiries.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at 6.50am and remains in police custody.

We believe that the people involved in this incident were known to each other.

This is a fast-moving investigation and officers will remain in the local area today while they carry out house-to-house enquiries and follow other avenues of investigation.

We are appealing for anyone we have not yet spoken with to come forward with information about the incident. We are keen to view any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage which might have captured the incident or people in Middlegate Road West and the surrounding streets between 5am and 7am today.

We would also ask that people do not speculate about the incident or people involved while we carry out our investigation.

If you can help, there are a number of ways to get in touch:

  • By calling 101 quoting incident 121 of 25 June
  • By emailing [email protected] quoting incident 121 of 25 June in the subject line.
  • If you wish to remain anonymous, you can report via the independent charity CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
