Arrest following fail to stop, Gainsborough

We have arrested a man on suspicion of driving and drug offences following a fail to stop and a collision involving three vehicles.

Officers had signalled for a blue BMW to stop in the Gainsborough area at around 4pm yesterday (26 June), which instead made off at speed. 

A short while later, the BMW collided with three other vehicles in Walkerith Road in Morton, resulting in one of the drivers suffering minor injuries. 

The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene resulting in officers requesting assistance from the police helicopter and the police drone, as well as foot searches. The vehicle was seized and subsequently searched, and a large quantity of cannabis found inside.

A 22-year-old man was located in a nearby field a short while later, and arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs of Class B, dangerous driving, and failing to stop. He remains in police custody.
