At around 11.15am today we received a call from a member of the public who reported a threat to public safety in Lincoln Castle.
Police officers went to the scene, which was evacuated and cordoned off to allow for safe and through investigations to be carried out.
Searches of the Castle and its grounds were completed around 1.45pm. No items were found that would pose a risk to public safety and the area was deemed safe, and members of the public were able to return to the area.
We are grateful to the public for their patience while we carried out our enquiries.
