Two men have been charged with burglary after a restaurant in West Parade was targeted in the early hours of yesterday morning (17 August).
Our Force Control Room received a report that a window at The Sycamore Restaurant had been forced open and cash, a laptop and a large amount of alcohol were stolen. The offence is reported to have taken place at 5.25am.
Officers were deployed to the scene and were following a number of lines to enquiry to proactively investigate that incident when another report was received that two men had stolen washing powder, bacon and beer from the Co-op store in Monks Road at around 3pm later that day.
Following a number of enquiries, officers identified two suspects who were arrested.
Martin Gentle, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary and shop theft in connection with both of those incidents, as well as obstructing police by providing false details.
Daniel Maddock, 38, also of no fixed address, has also been charged with burglary and shop theft in connection with the incidents.
Both have been remanded into custody and are due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (19 August).
