Following the conclusion of a criminal trial in July 2023, an accelerated misconduct hearing was held on 16 August at Force Headquarters, Nettleham, for former Police Constable Joshua Hammerton who was based at Gainsborough police station.
Former Police Constable Hammerton was found to have breached the following standard of professional behaviour:
It was found that on 4 of April 2022, the officer breached the standards of professional behaviour when he pleaded guilty to criminal charges of Misconduct in Public Office, and two counts of Computer Misuse.
The chair, Chief Constable Chris Haward, found the breach proven and that it amounted to gross misconduct.
The outcome of the hearing was that former Police Constable Joshua Hammerton would have been dismissed without notice, had he not already resigned.
