Update 3.55pm, 4 September

We are refreshing our appeal for anyone we have not yet spoken with about a fatal collision on 12 August in Ingoldmells to come forward.

Our investigation is continuing as we piece together the details of what happened, and we are particularly keen to speak with a person who may have been walking two dogs, one large and one small, along Anchor Lane at around 12.15pm to 12.30pm that day.

Anyone else who might have seen the incident, or a blue Mercedes-Benz E350 in the time leading up to the collision, is asked to come forward.

Any information you have, no matter how small you think it is could prove vital to our investigation. We would rather you tell us and allow us to decide how important it might be, than think that what you may know isn’t worth mentioning.

Please call DC Caroline Pendell on 01522 212316 or email [email protected] quoting Incident 204 of 12 August.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

Original release, 13 August:

We are appealing for information and dashcam footage following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian, at Ingoldmells.

Officers attended the scene after we received a call at 12.28pm, yesterday (12 August).

A man in his 60s, from Nottinghamshire, was crossing Anchor Lane near Hardy’s Animal Farm when he was in collision with a blue Mercedes-Benz E350. Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His family are being supported by specially-trained officers.

We are now appealing for anyone with dashcam footage, or who witnessed the incident, to get in touch.

Please call DC Caroline Pendell on 01522 212316 or email car[email protected] quoting Incident 204 of 12 August.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
