We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to help our investigation into a serious collision between an ambulance and an HGV today (30 August).
We received a 999 call at 5.07am reporting that the vehicles had collided along the Eastern bypass between the Wragby roundabout and the Greetwell Road roundabout.
The ambulance was travelling on blue lights in a southern direction, and the HGV was travelling north. We are now asking anyone who was travelling along that route at around the time of the collision to check any dashcam footage which might have captured the incident or either vehicle prior to the collision.
Four people have been taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.
Emergency services have been on scene since the incident was reported, and the road remains closed.
