We now believe that the people involved were English-speaking and not foreign as first reported.
We are appealing for dashcam, CCTV, and mobile phone footage which might help our investigation into a report of aggravated burglary in Lincoln in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were called to reports that a group of men had forced their way into a property close to the Arboretum in Monks Road in the early hours of the morning and assaulted a woman in her late 70s. The woman is not reported to have suffered any injuries.
It is reported they stole a significant amount of cash and jewellery.
People with a dashcam who might have been driving in the Monks Road area near to the Arboretum and the surrounding streets are asked to check dashcam footage between 12.30am and 1.30am this morning (Tuesday 29 August) to see if it may have captured a group of up to five men. They were described as wearing dark clothing and had foreign accents, and may have had balaclavas/masks on. Some of the men may have been carrying holdalls.
Officers are on scene today and will remain in the local area carrying out enquiries throughout the day.
