Appeal after incident in Chapel St Leonards

We received a call a call at 2.27am on Monday, 4 September, reporting an incident on The Promenade, Chapel St Leonards.
A man in his 40s was found near the boating lake with suspected stab wounds. He was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
A 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been released on bail.
We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, or who saw anything suspicious in the area of The Promenade in the early hours of Monday morning, to contact us.
