Update 2 November:
The 17-year-old boy, 12-year-old girl, 14-year-old boys and 18-year-old male have been released with no further action. Inquiries are still ongoing.
Update 13 October, 5.01pm:
We have made a further five arrests in relation to a serious assault in Belton Lane, Grantham.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on 6 October, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on 7 October, and another 17-year-old boy arrested on 11 October. All four have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and have been released on bail.
A 17-year-old girl has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice on 11 October and released on bail.
Update 5 October, 3.06pm:
We are appealing for witnesses to the serious assault in Belton Lane which has left a man in his 20s with serious injuries.
Our Force Control Room received a report that a man in his 20s had sustained a serious head injury at around 1.35am on Saturday 1 October.
We believe the victim was struck with a bottle while he was walking along the street. He remains in hospital with injuries which are described as “potentially life-changing”.
We believe that there will be people who saw this incident, or have more information about what happened who we have not yet spoken with. We would also be keen to view any dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage of the incident.
A a 17-year-old boy, two 14-year-old boys, and a 12-year-old girl have been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident.
