Three teenagers have been arrested following reports of aggravated burglaries at two homes in Horncastle and Bardney overnight.
Officers were called to reports that two people had entered a property in Southwells Lane in Horncastle at around 11.30pm last night (1 November) and demanded the keys to a vehicle before a white Ford Focus was stolen.
Officers were dispatched to the address, and undertook a search of the area and located the vehicle on fire a short time later near Wragby.
A few hours after the Horncastle incident we were called to reports that three people had gained access to a property in Silver Street in Bardney and demanded car keys. It was reported that a search of the house was made and items stolen. A vehicle was also stolen from this address.
The Bardney incident was reported at 1.39am, and is believed to have happened shortly before.
Local patrol officers, as well as the drone unit, were deployed to the scene, and swiftly undertook a search of the local area. The vehicle reported stolen from Bardney was located and a pursuit was undertaken before three people left the vehicle and officers gave chase. They were detained a short time later and arrested in connection with both incidents.
An investigation into the incidents is now underway, with specialist forensics experts and officers from our Criminal Investigation Department on scene and carrying out initial enquiries. The vehicle involved in the pursuit will be returned to its owner once the investigation is concluded.
One of the teenagers, an 18 year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, while another 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the same offence as well as failing to provide a specimen, driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop, and dangerous driving.
A 16-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
