13:40 04/11/2022

Last night we received four reports, in the space of an hour, that all related to windows broken or items thrown at windows.

The incidents, reported between 6.41 pm and 7.39 pm, all occurred in the Hartsholme and Skellingthorpe Road areas of the city.

We would like to appeal to anyone with information that might help with this investigation. If you saw anything relating to these incidents, or perhaps captured relevant footage, please call 101 with the incident number.

Incident 396 of 3 November relates to a cracked living room window on Shays Drive.

Incident 406 of 3 November relates to a smashed living room window on Melbourne Road.

Incident 381 of 3 November relates to a smashed car window on Sycamore Crescent.

Incident 385 of 3 November relates to apples thrown at an upstairs window on Beswick Close. In this case no damage was caused.

Birchwood and Hartsholme Community Beat Manager Adam Barton said, “We don’t underestimate the impact this will have had on the victims. It’s deeply distressing and highly upsetting, not to mention a great inconvenience, to have a window broken. We will be taking this very seriously and doing all in our power to root out those responsible and we ask that our local residents support this investigation by reporting anything they know that could help our enquiries.”
