Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the hard work, dedication, and selflessness of those who go above and beyond to help their communities and we, at Lincolnshire Police want to recognise the efforts of all our volunteers.

So many people across the UK sacrifice their time to give back to their communities in so many different ways– and it’s no different in Lincolnshire.

Some choose to give back by helping their local police and in Lincolnshire we have over 400 such volunteers.

Volunteers who work with Lincolnshire Police, day in, day out in a bid to make our county a safe place to live, work and visit.

2022 marks the 38th year organisations have recognised Volunteers’ Week – it is a time for us to focus on everything our volunteers do and to say thanks to all those who choose to contribute to their community in this way.

Volunteer Coordinator, Jackie Rowe said, “ All our volunteers are amazing.

"The Specials go out on duty alongside front line police officers.

"They have their day jobs and then go out to police our towns and city in the evening and at weekends.

"Our young cadets learn about the police but also go out into their local communities, getting involved in events, initiatives and helping local policing teams.

"And our Police Support Volunteers and Volunteer PCSOs help out in so many ways, from patrolling our local communities, supporting road safety for motor cyclists, helping to keep police cars clean, supporting vulnerable individuals to administrative roles or helping with the scenario based training for officers.

"We appreciate them every single day, but Volunteers Week is a time to shout out those thanks and put volunteers into the spotlight and recognise everything that they do.”

Our Special Constables, our Police Support Volunteers, our Volunteer PCSOs and our Volunteer Police Cadets – our Citizens in Policing.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Davison said: “We are really lucky to have some great volunteers in Lincolnshire who help us every day of the week, all across the organisation.

“From the work that our Specials do, our Police Support Volunters to our Volunteer Cadets – a huge thank you to you all from me and your colleagues at Lincolnshire Police.

“We are really pleased that you work with us – thank you everyone.”

If you would like to volunteer at Lincolnshire Police, you can find out what vacancies we have on our website.
