Police have received reports with regard to large groups of young people behaving in an anti-social manner in the area known as the Meadows, Stamford.
A Dispersal Notice is in place from 6 pm today, Thursday 25th June, until 2 am on Saturday 27th June, when the notice will be reviewed.
The Dispersal Notice will support the Police to remove or reduce the likelihood of members of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed, or removing or reducing the likelihood of crime and disorder occurring in the locality.
The power will therefore enable Officers to require a person who has committed, or is likely to commit anti-social behavior, to leave the Meadows and not return within a specific time.
A person given a notice who fails to comply with it commits an offence.
The area of the Meadows also falls under a Public Space Protection Order.
Any person who therefore continues drinking alcohol when asked to desist by a Police Officer or PCSO, commits an offence.
If you intend to visit the Meadows, please behave responsibly and be aware that action will be taken by Lincolnshire Police.
