Man appears in court over Branston murder charges

A 22-year-old man charged with the murders of a woman believed to be his mother and her partner has appeared in court.

Andrei-Mihai Simion-Munteanu, of Lincoln Road, Branston, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court this morning (August 8). The case was sent to Lincoln Crown Court this afternoon where he was further remanded into custody.

A plea and trial preparation hearing is due for September 9. A provisional trial date has been set for February 3, 2020.

Simion-Munteanu has been charged with the murders of 51-year-old Premm Monti and 71-year-old Robert Tully, between July 27 and July 30 this year. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

This is believed to have been an isolated incident.

Police were called to a property on Lincoln Road, Branston, at 11.13am on Monday (August 5) where they found the bodies of a man and a woman.
