Man jailed for sexual assault

A man has been given a 32-month prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to a sexual assault by penetration.

The offence took place in the Skegness area between the 14th and 15th August 2020. 

Steve Chapman, 51, of Bevan Way, Sheffield was sentenced at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court yesterday (17th February). 

Chapman has also been given a four-month restraining order and has been placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Detective Sergeant Laura Jones from the Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit in said: “We’d like to pay tribute to the bravery of the victim for coming forward as well as the officers involved in the investigation. We hope this result can bring some form of comfort and closure to the victim."
