Are you eligible?
To apply, you must be aged 13 to 16 years, but if you are successful you can stay with us until your 18th birthday.

You should return your application by Wednesday 31 March 2021. We will not consider late applications.
Please do not return to your local police station.
In your application you should include reasons why you want to be a cadet, your qualities and what you hope to gain from the scheme.
You must also complete and return a health information form with your application. This information is not used during the papersift process. We need this information so we can make any necessary adjustments or considerations while you are in our care at the selection board.
What happens next?
Your application will go through a formal paper sift process. If you have been unsuccessful at the application stage you will be notified after the closing date.
If you are successful, we will invite you to attend a selection board. Under current circumstances, these are likely to be held virtually.
We will notify you of the outcome of your selection board within 14 days.
If you are successful, you will receive an offer of a place with cadets subject to passing vetting checks.
Vetting can take up to eight weeks to be completed. Once complete, we will write to you with the outcome and confirm your start date.
