Shaun West became temporary Assistant Chief Constable for Lincolnshire Police on 26th June 2017.
Shaun is temporary Assistant Chief Constable, responsible for Crime and Operations.
He joined Lincolnshire Police in 1997, having served with the force as a Special Constable since 1994. He has served in both uniform and detective roles throughout his career, including Local Policing, Community Safety, CID, Professional Standards, Public Protection and Operations Support. As Senior Investigating Officer, Shaun has led homicide and complex investigations, including a work related death involving the Red Arrows.
Shaun is a Specialist Strategic Firearms Commander, Gold Public Order Commander and was the Multi Agency Gold Incident Commander for the floods which hit the East Coast of Lincolnshire in December 2013 and LRF Strategic Coordination Group Chair for the tidal surge in January 2017.
He was as the Head of the Specialist Operations in Lincolnshire before taking a secondment in February 2014 as the Superintendent lead for Armed & Roads Policing for East Midlands forces within the East Midlands Operational Support Service (EMOpSS) collaboration; working across Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
His most recent role was Chief Superintendent for East Lincolnshire which he took up in April 2016.
Shaun was born in Nottingham, attending the Nottingham Trent University whilst studying for his Law Degree. He now lives in Lincolnshire with his family of 4 children. Shaun enjoys playing football, running, boxing and shooting.
