Information Management Unit

The Information Management Unit (IMU) is responsible for the accurate handling of information for the force.

The IMU is divided into three multi-faceted teams:

The work of the unit is vital as so much is dependent on accurate and useable information being available to officers and staff.  This can in turn help raise confidence in our communities.

The main objectives of the department are:

  • Protect the force's assets through appropriate security measures
  • Facilitate the appropriate and lawful sharing of information to protect children and vulnerable adults
  • Manage the force's information to ensure compliance with nationally agreed standards
  • Ensure the information we hold as a force is of the highest quality
  • To provide an effective and efficient vetting service to ensure the correct level of access to our premises and our systems
